The fishing animations can be a bit slow so it's easy to get a bit trigger happy when casting, effectively cancelling your own cast too early, especially when there's lots of other people fishing the same hole. Plus it's nice to get a bit of feedback anyway.
Fish Bar displays a timer bar when you're fishing.
It shows up as soon as you cast and goes away when you've caught something (and plays a sound if you're not using Votan's Fisherman for that, and you really should
), moved away from the hole or the hole is no longer fishable (plays a different sound).
Please note - Fish Bar does not know how long your fishing will actually take, it's just a visual indicator of how long it could take.
Fish Bar can also play an emote when you catch a fish that counts towards progressing a fishing achievement.
