This addon is now obsolete! Try the RP Profile Viewer addon to view Rollplay profiles directly in ESO instead!

An integration of the ESO Rollplay character sheet and rolling system with ESO.

With this addon, an option is added to the right-click context menu for characters in chat to View Rollplay Profile. This will open your web browser to that character's profile on the Rollplay site. Of course, not all characters will have a profile, in which case the site will simply fail to find that character.

This will work for most forms of chat - say, emote, zone, yell, and group. But not for guild chat.

Due to the restrictive nature of ESO's addon API, the profile link functionality is all that is currently planned. Best to keep things simple.

About Rollplay

The basic idea behind the system is for players to choose what their characters are good at, and then whatever is chosen is incorporated by the rolling system automatically. Also included is a profile area where you can hotlink an image, give additional information about your character, and write up a full background.

The rolling system itself is intended to supplement your story rather than get bogged down in stats. There is no 'level' system to freeze out newer players - all characters are on even footing, and the character sheet is only used to lay out a character's strengths and weaknesses. The end result of this is to (hopefully) keep things very streamlined. Most of a player's work is on their character sheet; when it's time to start making rolls, their stats are used automatically.

As for how the rolling system is used in practice, it is patterned after tabletop play. For starters, it uses a 20-sided die system not unlike what you might see in Dungeons and Dragons (although the way it functions is actually closer to Mutants and Masterminds, where every roll is made with a d20). Just as in tabletop, there is a Game Master who is in charge of the action and guides play. The outcomes of all rolls are up to the discretion of the Game Master, the system doesn't call anything automatically.

If you'd like to do some further reading on how exactly the system works, documentation can be found here: https://eso-rollplay.net/handbook.html.
I also have a small Discord set up for it, which you can find after making your Rollplay account.

I used the context menu code from Port to Friend's House as a base for this addon, so props to Sordrak for figuring all that out for me.
